“Now, Lord, do it again!
Restore us to our former glory!
May streams of your refreshing flow over us
until our dry hearts are drenched again.”
I know of a God
who speaks in accents clear and still.
I know of a God who never minces His words.
He speaks in authority and His word never returns empty.
He says it and does it.
I know of a God who redeems.
A God who doesn’t see the murk but works with the image of what He called you to be.
A God who doesn’t shy from the clean up neither does He shun the brokenness.
He delights in going back for the one even if it means leaving the 99.
I know of a God,
He speaks in and out of love.
The dialect love is ingrained in Him.
His name is love.
A God who delights in my vulnerability as He calls me son because at that point I stand,
a ready bride in union to my Groom.
Even when the storms rage and waves are tempest, He is steadfast.
A safe space that never gets corrupted.
In His arms there is warmth and in Him an overflowing peace.
His desire is to see His child take after Him.
Every chiseled move is a work towards it.
To restore us to our former glory,
By relieving us off the dead weight.
Though we may not get it at times,
As we are overwhelmed by things.
Possibly standing in confusion, questioning His nature.
Truth remains, that He is good and all He does is good.
I therefore know a God who restores and
recompense is what He takes delight in as well.
He goes all out for His children and loves pulling off surprises for them.
When He steps in to reinstate,
It is beyond what we seemingly felt we had lost.
As a matter of fact, it is unbelievable,
Mind blowing.
He is not taken away from our current reality.
Yes He knows:
That it kept you awake in the night.
That it felt like a punch below the belt.
It had your body uncontrollably rocking as hot tears probably stung your face.
It had you so pressed to the point of considering hanging your walk of faith boots only to realize that your best options were staying in Him.
Whatever that was for you;
He knows what it cost.
He knows how it pained.
He knows the scars it gave.
He knows it all.
At that point of recompense,
He stands as Restorer.
He matches and surpasses our expectations.
I know of a God,
His name is Yahweh.
He calls me My beloved.
He rejoices over me with song.
He calls me the apple of His eye.
He stands as a hedge of fire around me.
That storm wasn’t to take you out.
That fire wasn’t to consume you.
The waters were not to carry you with.
That was the Refiner’s fire,
Purifying the vessel of choice.
So hold on little one, dry off your face.
Stand neck high and shoulders straightened up.
Papa is about to show up and show off for you.
Ours, yours, is to remain a faithful bride and intimate with the Groom .
You’ll need to buckle up for this ride
as it will have you wide eyed
in constant awe and wonder.
As He said it:
‘Though it tarries,
IT👏🏼 SHALL👏🏼 COME👏🏼 TO👏🏼 PASS👏🏼.’
