It’s easy to go through the motions of life feeling forgotten.
It not stemming from the day to day musings that is life but as a result of being worn down by the constant battles which swung your way.
Forgotten maybe a bit strong a word, yes?
We could probably work with invisible?
The kind that has you wondering:
Whether it all sums up to anything.
Whether those sacrifices and intentionality in choices were ever to translate to anything meaningful.
Possibly in the place of service at work.
Or the presence on the home front.
Or in the vineyard that is your assignment.
Or just maybe it is on your interactions bit.
Even as you battle to remain alert and sensitive in those spaces you have been called to.
In Genesis 40, we meet Joseph playing the role prisoner in a foreign land from what had seemingly been a grand position of incharge, Potiphar’s house.
I don’t know whether you have found yourself on the other end of an ask.
That very space might stand familiar to many if not most:
You have tarried in prayer.
You have faithed it.
You have trusted.
You have praised and worshipped through that season.
You have stood on His promises that are His scripture.
Groaned in burden as you sort for relief or reprieve.
You have pondered over the words He has spoken over you as well.
You have chosen a diligence even in spaces that you would care less for anything at all.
Oscillated from debating on whether it is ever that serious to wanting it so bad possibly leaving you at opting for the ‘life moves on phrase’ a couple of times.
It’s a difficult truth for sure.
I have been there, probably still am🙈.
Oh well. 🤷🏽♀️
The biggest source of frustration, most often than not, is the how to get to the place of promise.
Not the striving but the ‘May I be found faithful and not forfeit it all’ kind.
The sobering reality that is the gap between what Papa promised and the now, can be a great source of the dull ache that almost consumes if you let it linger too long.
Probably how Joseph found himself seated in a rather peculiar situation that had everything to do with his calling.
Younger Joseph received a dream and in the excitement shared it to his family which begun a sequence of events that sound so bizarre.🤨
Even here, he chose faithfulness and thrived in all he did.
Thus, in the sequence that was his dutifulness he met two of the King’s servants in what would later on be the platform on which God’s master plan was unveiled.
I can only imagine for a split second the idea of having an out from a situation one has battled with for so long. A surreal moment that would have you breaking out in dance at the thought of the tumultuous storm coming to an end, watching what he had interpreted to them come to pass.
He made a noble ask when he was done interpreting, to be remembered once the chief butler was reinstated.
He didn’t demand for the world neither was it an upgrade, he just wanted out of that space and into the place of promise.
A simple ask;
Probably a shout out to the King over how he was the man behind their solution.
Or maybe just tell the whole lot of royal servants about this man who interpreted their dream behind bars.
Maybe speak of his diligence and faithfulness as well while at it.
The Chief butler’s options were numerous on how to go about Joseph’s request. He unfortunately didn’t follow through with any of it.🤦🏽♀️
It took two years and a distressed King for him to take into account the man that came through for him behind bars🤦🏽♀️.
Yeah, I know🙄.
The how is quite mind boggling.
I can only imagine the emotional turmoil that came with that wait where Joseph is concerned. Or maybe not, probably he was graceful about it.
I’m however, clear on how livid I would have been and would possibly have tasted the space that is despair one too many times.
Nevertheless, the Chief Butler admits his shortcoming with the verse placing emphasis on it being overdue an act:
“Finally, the king’s chief cup-bearer spoke up. “Today I have been reminded of my failure,” he told Pharaoh.” Genesis 41:9 NLT
This, my friend, was the platform on which Joseph’s life took a total turn around not just for himself but for the sake of his people for generations to come.
A magnificent display of favour stepping into a room and a reminder of Papa’s faithfulness on His promises over us.
From prisoner to second in command after Pharaoh.
Whooosh🙆🏽♀️!
But who can compare to our God?😭🙌🏼
Won’t👏🏼 He👏🏼 do👏🏼 it👏🏼?💃🏻💃🏻
Therefore, even in a season that is comparable to scaling one mountain after another, possibly having you wait on an ask earlier made which seemed so simple yet fundamental for you.
Find rest in the goodness that is His promises for Papa is out to show up and show out.
It was the word He placed in my spirit as we transitioned into this month of birthing.
You are not forgotten dear one.
He has you in His arms.
He delights in showing out for you.
That preferred timing might not have been the best for you.
He didn’t want to release a premie your way.
Better yet, He wanted to finalize on it being grand.
Thus find rest from bending over backwards to get there.
Scale back from the unnecessary fights and let Him handle it.
Keep at it in faithfulness and diligence for the audience of one.
It will not be long before you burst forth in joy for that place of remembrance will have you forget the pain of the past.
He is still singing of restoration and demonstration so take a back seat; embrace His peace, Let God.
He’s about to turn it around bringing a bottomless joy and filling your mouth with laughter as He guides you into the much desired rest.
You are not forgotten neither are you overlooked.
You are His❤️.
It is about time for us to level up 🙌🏼!
Hugs and kisses😘

So captivating, it’s high time I took a backseat and trust in God’s providence…
